Greetings, and welcome to the community of Hartland, Vermont USA. Hartland is a small rural town located about mid-way up the eastern "coast" of Vermont, where it borders the Connecticut River and is nestled between Hartford, Woodstock, West Windsor, and Windsor. It is a vibrant community full of people and organizations having a wide variety of interests. This Web site provides a common place for town's-people and other interested souls to announce events and share ideas. All points of view are welcome. We rely on you to be on the look-out for inappropriate content. If you spot something offensive, illegal, or otherwise questionable, please bring it to the attention of the site's administrator.
Have a look at the main menu to the left and see what we have to offer. Take a squint at the calendar and news. Above where you are reading now, you'll see a list of calendar events that are coming up in the next few days as well as titles of the most-recently added news. Get involved and contribute your own ideas!

9 May 2011 - NOTE TO ALL: Some user accounts purged
Over the last months, many user accounts have been created by 'bots. These accounts are often used for nefarious purposes. I removed all user accounts that appeared to be from questionable sources. I may have inadvertently removed accounts created for legitimate purposes. If you can no longer sign in to your account, it may have been one of those removed. For that, I regret the inconvenience to you. I do not want to limit anyone's access to this Web site. Please create a new account, and send an e-mail directly to

14 June 2010 - E-mail lists added!
This new feature has been added at your request. Many people prefer to converse with the community through e-mail, rather than posting messages on a Web site discussion board. To get started, click on the "Mailing Lists" item in the menu on the upper-left corner of this page. If you prefer the more rubust experience of a threaded discussion board, the "Discussion Forum" is available.
Selectboard meeting agendas and minutes are now posted in the Discussion Forum. Look there in the Town Government section. Feel free to post your thoughts regarding the Board's activities. After all, we elected them to look out for our collective best interest. Remember that to post messages in the forum, you must first create an account on this site - and that's easy!
